The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has denied imposing any kind of tax on citizens, saying that all citizens will learn about developments in the national transformation programme with full transparency.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, Minister of State and member of the Cabinet of Saudi Arabia Mohamed bin Abdul Malik Al Al-Sheikh announced this at a press conference during the launch of the National Transformation Programme in 2020, with the participation of the Minister of Civil Service Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Araj, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Faleh and Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Benten.

The Minister said that the Kingdom's vision 2030 did not have tax on the income of citizens by the government and that was announced before during the launch of the vision, and it was clear and explicit that there will be no tendency to impose income tax on citizens.

On the Ministry of Civil Service initiatives, Minister Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Araj said that every initiative made by the Ministry in the Kingdom's vision 2030 will have a thorough study to be carried out within the framework of the National Transformation Programme, and it will be recognised by everyone as well as these developments in the national transformation programme with all transparency through media and means of social networking.

He also said, "In the public sector, there is a tendency to raise the percentage of women with respect to higher ranks, improve government work culture, raise the proportion of women in jobs that belong to civil service from 39.8 percent to 42 percent, and increase the proportion of women in senior positions with rank 11 and above from 1 percent to 5 percent, indicating that King Salman's programme for the development of human resources will significantly help facilitate this."
