Saudi destroys expensive car at tribe's 'request'

A Saudi man destroyed his expensive car by setting it on fire after he was told by his tribe to get rid of the vehicle, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

The Arabic language daily 'Anha' said the car is worth around SR250,000 (Dh250,000) and that the man’s tribe insisted on destroying it.

“He parked the car near his village and set it on fire,” the paper said in a report from the Southern Najran province, without mentioning why the tribe wanted to get rid of the car.
