Saudi teacher stabbed to death by student

Saudi Arabia - A Saudi teacher was killed after he was stabbed by a school boy following a fight with a worker at the school in the Gulf Kingdom.

The teacher intervened to end the scuffle between the student and the worker and a heated argument ensued.

“The student stabbed the teacher with a knife he was hiding in his pocket. The teacher was rushed to hospital but he died later,” Al Saudeh Arabic language daily said in a report from the southern province of Jazan.

UAE - A court in Ras Al Khaimah sentenced an Arab man to two years in prison and ordered his deportation from the UAE after he was convicted of stealing a car plate.

The court issued the tough sentence against the unnamed defendant after he was found guilty of using that plate to steal petrol from tanks of trucks parked on the road.

The verdict included one month in jail for driving a car without plates and another month for failure to renew his driving licence.
