A security alert was sounded early Wednesday, aboard a Jet Airways flight bound for Mumbai from Ahmedabad.
While some Indian news agencies are citing the alert was caused by a bomb scare, Jet Airways has assured its passengers and six crewmembers were safe.
In a statement, the airline confirmed Flight S2 4738 from Ahmedabad to Mumbai received a security alert at the former airport, prior to take off.
The Indian carrier continued: “The aircraft was thoroughly inspected by security agencies and the flight with 125 guests and six crew has now been cleared for departure [9am UAE time].”
It is still unclear what sounded the alert.
The airline added it regretted the inconvenience caused, but the safety and security of its guests and crew remained its main priority.
