Sharjah Police have arrested an offender involved in a hit-n-run accident earlier this month in the Al Madam area.

The accident resulted in the death of a 4-year-old Arab boy.

Al Madam police station received a call that there was an accident in front of a building and that the driver ran away. A police team was formed to track down the driver who caused the accident.

Vehicle specifications were identified through witnesses and surveillance cameras.

The car was found in one of the garages with marks that indicated it had been in that accident.

The police then identified the driver, a man in his 20s.

He admitted that while he was driving in the neighbourhood, a child ran onto the street suddenly.

The driver couldn’t control the vehicle and hit the child.

The father of the deceased child  said that his son went to the grocery store to buy candy and some children threw his shoe on the street.

He ran to bring the shoe back, when the vehicle that was going too fast hit him.

The case is with Public Prosecution to complete the investigation.
