Images of the aftermath went viral on the social media. The close-up photo showed a crew member with a deep cut on her head and a couple of others were belted into their seats with neck braces on.
The airline later released a statement saying that 10 people on board flight AV965 were admitted to hospital and released.
Daily Mail quoted a witness who said that one passenger was flung from the seat so high that the head got slammed.
The plane was grounded for about six hours before it left for Buenos Aires.
