13-year-old girl raped by father’s brother

Colombo: Eppawela police arrested a man for sexually molesting his younger brother’s 13-year-old daughter, ‘Sunday Mawbima’ reported.

On February 13, the victim’s mother left the girl at her brother-in-law’s home around 6.30am.

The suspect, who is a father of a daughter of the same age as the victim, sent her out to clean the garden around 7am where he brutally molested her.

When the girl’s mother returned to pick her up at 7.30pm, she narrated the incident to her. The mother then lodged a complaint to the police.

Cop molests school boy

Colombo: A constable was arrested by Nochchiyagama police for sexually abusing a 14-year-old school boy, ‘Sunday Mawbima’ reported.

Police said the constable, who was attached to a police station in Polonnaruwa district, came home after attending a party and committed the crime on the same night.

The suspect grabbed the victim and molested him at a cemetery in Pahala Wetiyawa area at night.

The boy narrated the incident after he was admitted to the hospital due to an illness the following day.

The victim’s mother lodged a complaint to the police.
