Barber woos 11-year-old girl, gets caught as he rapes her

Colombo - Sri Lankan Police in Navagaththegama have arrested a 21-year-old barber, accused of raping an 11-year-old girl, ‘Lakbima’ reported.

The suspect, a resident of Navagaththegama area, runs a barber shop in the same town and the victim is a Grade 6 student.

The man wooed the girl and she developed affection for him.

While the girl was walking to school, the suspect arrived in his three-wheeler and took her to an area with heavy shrubs and raped her.

A stranger who was passing by and saw the two informed the police, who arrived at the scene immediately and arrested the man.
 

Lankans arrested for abduction in Malaysia


Malaysian police have arrested three men including two Sri Lankans for the abduction of a fellow Lankan woman, ‘Lakbima’ reported.

The suspects, who acted as agents assisting her for higher studies, abducted her after giving false promises.

They had later demanded a ransom in Malaysian Ringit 8,500 to release her.

The Malaysian police launched a search operation and arrested the three men.
