Beggar monk caught with more than Dh20,000
COLOMBO: Residents of Malsiripura area in Kurunegala in North Western province caught a monk collecting money for charity fraudulently.
According to a ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ report, the monk has Rs7,00,000 [Dh 20272.5] in his bank account and he also guilty of printing fake currency notes.
He has served a four-year jail term earlier in another case, the paper added.
The suspect has been detained.
