Emirati boy sexually harassed in Lanka hotel

A UAE national was allegedly sexual harassed by a Sri Lankan in a hotel in Colombo, according to a report in the ‘Daily Mirror’.

A UAE national complained to the Colombo Fort police that his 16-year-old son had been sexually harassed while he was in the massage tub in the hotel’s bathroom.

The hotel’s security staff handed over the alleged culprit to the police.

He was later remanded till November 1 by a Colombo magistrate when the suspect, a resident of Bambalapitiya, was produced before him.

Pregnant woman abducted and raped

A five-months pregnant woman was abducted and raped while on her way to a government hospital for medicines, according a report in the ‘Mawbima’.

Police said the 18-year-old woman from Suduhumpola in Kandy was walking to an ayurvedic hospital when a youth came in a three-wheeler vehicle, abducted her and took her to an unknown place where she was raped.

The woman escape from him and lodged a complaint with the police. She has been admitted to the Kandy General Hospital for medical examination.

The alleged culprit is absconding.
