Colombo: A half-dressed bride getting ready at a beauty salon for her marriage eloped with a young man, ‘Gossip C Lanka’ reported.
The bride, hailing from Tangalle area, befriended a young man from Matara area and arrangements were made for their wedding ceremony on May 26.
She was taken to a beauty salon to get ready and dressed for the occasion, but she eloped with a young man.
When the groom came to know about the incident, he went to the salon and found that the bride ran away half-dressed while chatting with someone on her mobile phone.
The CCTV camera recording at the beauty salon has been given to the police after groom lodged a complaint at Matara police station.
On the same day, parents of the bride found her at Angunakolapelessa area, where she was abandoned by her ex-lover, who had come to pick her up at the salon during her telephone call.
Music master molests four school girls
Colombo: A music teacher allegedly sexually molested four school girls in Nikaweratiya, Sri Lanka, ‘Gossip C Lanka’ reported.
The incidents came to light when anonymous telephone complaints were received by police about a popular teacher – who is also a well-known businessman – molesting the girls.
According to the report, the parents were reluctant to lodge complaints directly because the incidents would give a bad image to their children. Therefore, the police was unable to arrest the teacher.
Quoting police sources, it said that the principal and the other staff members were trying to protect the culprit.
The parents warned that they might not send children to the popular school in future if the authorities remain silent.
