Male teacher sexually abused male students

A male teacher of a  Sunday school has been arrested and remanded till November 11 in Sri Lanka on the charge of sexually abusing five underage male students, the ‘Lankadeepa’ has reported.

The suspect is reported to be working as a bank manager, a police spokesman said.

The students were produced before the judicial medical officer of the Batticaloa General Hospital for examination.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old tuition master has been arrested by the Sri Lankan police for molesting a nine-year-old schoolgirl, the ‘Lankadeepa’ reported.

The girl, who was admitted to the the Polpithigama hospital, told doctors she was molested by the suspect about two months ago.

Lover kills himself after stabbing girlfriend

An 18-year-old youth stabbed himself to death in Sri Lanka last Thursday after stabbing his 17-year-old girlfriend in her house, the ‘Lankadeepa’ reported.

Police said that they had been living together for about a year after which they had separated.

The girl had recently refused her boyfriend’s call to come back and live together again.

The girl’s relative rushed to scene after hearing her screams and took both of them to the hospital.
