Man molests young acquaintance

Colombo: A barber allegedly kidnapped a young woman and raped her for seven days at his friend’s home, ‘Mawbima’ reported.

The suspect and the girl knew each since their childhood days. The young woman was reportedly waiting for a bus to go work when the accused approached her and offered her lift to her office in his trishaw.

When she got into the vehicle, she noticed that the accused was driving in the different direction. The young woman protested but the suspect took her to his friend’s home.

The barber – who is married – locked her up in a room, promising that he would marry her. After raping her for seven days, he decided to take her to a marriage registrar in his trishaw. On the way, she jumped out of the trishaw and went to her parents where she narrated her ordeal to them.

Parents had already lodged a police complaint that their daughter was missing. Police is investigating the case.
