Mobile phone lover molests teen

Colombo: An army soldier in Sri Lanka is accused of molesting a teenager after befriending her over mobile phone conversations.

According to a report in ‘Mirror’, the 21-year-old suspect is under remand.

The girl reportedly fell in love with him as he wooed her over the phone.

Later, when he visited her at home for the first time,  he accompanied her to her grand mom’s house, where he allegedly molested her.

He walked her to her granny’s place with her parents concern, according to police reports.

Further investigations are continuing.
 
90,000 drug peddlers held in 20 months

Police in Sri Lanka have arrested 90,000 drug peddlers in the last 20 months.

According to a report in ‘Lanka Sri’, last year 15,898 suspects were nabbed in heroin-related offences, while 30,488 were arrested over cannabis-related offences.

Meanwhile, this year 15,516 suspects have been arrested for dealing with heroin and 25,903 for cannabis peddling.
