Mom jumps into well with child, mother hurt, girl dies

Colombo: A mother jumped into the well with her 10-month-old child in Boralessa area, ‘Lankadeepa’ reported quoting Wennappuwa police.

 

Police said the owner went to the well to wash her face after returning from work at noon time on the day of incident when she heard screams from the well.

When she saw in the well, she found both the mother and the baby in the well. She arranged to rescue them with the help of neighbours but the child died on way to hospital.

Police is conducting an investigation in order to ascertain whether the mother jumped into the well carrying the child or they fell in the well accidentally.
