Son kills 85-year-old mother with pole

A man has been arrested in Sri Lanka for killing his 85-year-old mother with a pole, the ‘Rivira’ reported.

On being informed that a woman who had died in suspicious circumstances was lying in a pool of blood in a house, the 52-year-old suspect was arrested and questioned.

The victim has been identified as Agbo Vidanelage Ranmenika who had been living with her son at Thorayaya, Wellawa.

Police said frequent arguments between mother and son led to the crime.
