Underage girl given drug-laced drink, raped

A Sri Lankan married man, who had raped and impregnated a 15-year-old girl after giving her a soft drink laced with a drug mixed soft drink which made her giddy, has been remanded till December 10, the ‘Lankadeepa’ reported.

The victim told police that the suspect had on several occasions taken her to his home over a period of three months and raped her after intimidating her.

Police told the magistrate court said that the suspect had married another woman about two months ago after which the victim lodged a complaint.

The magistrate ordered the police to submit a DNA report at the next hearing.
