A 44-year-old mother of two children had been remanded by the Tangalle Magistrate on Wednesday till December 6, for clubbing her 54-year-old husband to death on Tuesday morning, ‘Island’ reported.
During a quarrel with her husband, Kasthuriarachchige Warnadasa, the woman attacked him with a pole, police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.
Residents of Kukulugamuwa area in the Beliatta police division, said the victim had beaten his wife after an argument, which led the angry woman to attack the drunken husband.
Neighbours had told the police that the couple fought very often and the wife would get beaten most of the times.
The younger of the school going two children had told the police that during an altercation their mother assaulted the father.
Beliatta police are conducting further investigations.
