Wife gets hubby arrested for 'immoral' habits

Colombo: A 29-year-old person, arrested by Beruwala police, has been remanded till July 4 by Kalutara Additional Magistrate Bharathi Wijeratne for allegedly harassing his 30-year-old wife, a mother of one.

He is accused of forcing her to imitate scenes from movies he showed her on his computer, ‘Mawbima’ reported.

Police said that she stated in her complaint that her businessman husband had been sexually harassing her for years.

The acting magistrate allowed the police to produce the suspect before a psychiatrist and submit a report to the court while ordering the police to take the computer and his mobile phone into their custody.

Investigations continue.

Meanwhile, ‘Mawbima’ also reported that Warakapola police had found a mother of five engaged in prostitution to earn a living to feed her children, as her husband hand been remanded for selling drugs.

Child and Women’s Bureau of Warakapola police is investigating.
