Youth stabs woman for refusing illicit affair

Colombo: A young man reportedly stabbed a woman 17 times for refusing an extramarital affair with him, ‘Lankadeepa’ reported quoting Norton Bridge police.

The woman was admitted to a hospital in serious condition.

The victim was a 29-year-old mother of one and a resident of Norton Bridge police division, while the young man was a 23-year-old bachelor, police said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim’s husband was employed as a mason in Colombo and the incident occurred when she was going to bring her child from the school.

The arrested suspect was would be produced before the court.
