Sudan welcomes its removal from US travel restrictions

Sudan has welcomed the US decision to remove it from the list of countries whose citizens have been restricted to enter the United States.

In a statement, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry said, "The decision confirms the confidence of the US administration in the competence of the Sudanese authorities and their ability and professionalism in monitoring the movement of passengers from and through Sudanese airports and exchange information and cooperation with all friendly countries."

"This step represents an important positive development in the bilateral relations and a natural outcome of a long and frank dialogue, joint efforts by several relevant institutions of the two sides and close cooperation between the two countries on international and regional issues of shared interest," according to the statement issued by the Sudanese Foreign Ministry on Monday.
