A taxi driver is accused of stealing a BlackBerry phone from a passenger’s bag when she left the car for an errand.

MSA, 31, allegedly stole the devise and hid it in his vehicle’s trunk, taking advantage of the passenger’s short absence.

The passenger, Anna Christina, claims that when she returned to the taxi after visiting a pharmacy, she found the handset missing from her bag.

Suspecting the driver, she immediately called the police, who interrogated the driver and got a return permission from the accused to search the car.

On searching the taxi’s trunk, police first found the cover of the device and the BlackBerry, testified police officer Ahmad Abdullah.

The driver kept silent when the BB was found, added the policeman.

The court adjourned the case for verdict until July 27.
