Teachers mock special needs student on FB
Those who impart education have no business making fun of pupils and moreover, a special needs student.
But a group of teachers in Singapore have made a mockery of their profession by ranting against a Year 5 boy. In a Facebook post on July 1, just after the June holidays ended, the teacher wrote: "I'm so looking forward to the next few months!!! Anyone got contact for sanitizers?"
Other teachers from the school then joined in to mock the pupil's condition, reported The New Paper.
The callous act so angered a parent and a housewife in her 30s that she contacted the daily. She wrote: "What is becoming of our educators?" Mrs Lim, who has a son in grade 5 in the school, said she came across the posting earlier this month, when she was looking at her son's Facebook account.
The initial post made by the teacher owning this account was innocuous, said the paper.
"I survived the first week of work", read the post, referring to the beginning of the third term.
Then came a comment from another teacher on how he was not really looking forward to the "next few months", and asking if anyone had a "sanitizers" contact.
The first teacher replied to his comment to say that he needed "a load of that plus boxes of tissues", as well as "wet wipes" and a "mucus collector".
