Teenager molested by dance master

Colombo: Two minor were molested in separate incidents in Sri Lanka recently, reported Sunday Mawbima.

While a teenager was allegedly molested by her dance instructor in Akuressa, a minor boy was abused by three monks in the monastery.

Investigations reveal the 42-year-old suspect had been attempting to seduce her since she enrolled at the institute.

The incident came to light after the 15-year-old’s dad filed a police complaint, saying the dance instructor visited their home when the girl was alone at and committed the crime.

The suspect is arrested and the girl admitted in hospital.

Three monks abuse kid

Meanwhile, three monks have been charged with abusing a minor at the monastery.

They were arrested by Panadura police and produced before the chief magistrate who authorized their release on a bail surety of [Sri Lankan] Rs100,000 each.

They have been hence evicted from the monastery.

Meanwhile, the chief monk has been assigned the duty of sheltering and safeguarding the kid monk.

The witness to the crime had informed the National Child Protection Authority, which in turn had ordered the Child and Women’s Bureau of Panadura police to investigate and arrest the suspects.

Investigations continue.
