The Dubai Criminal Court awarded a Pakistani mechanic three years in jail for exposing himself in front of a 10-year-old schoolgirl.
AMA, 26, who was also charged for molesting the Canadian schoolgirl after he claimed he wanted to show her fish at Dubai’s Mina Al Seyahi, was ordered deportated after serving his jail term.
AMA had denied public indecency and molesting a 10-year-old schoolgirl before the court.
According to the arraignment sheet, the mechanic molested the girl by hugging her from the back against her will. He was also accused of breaching the girl's modesty and publicly exposing himself to her.
The girl told the prosecution that a man approached her and invited her to a nearby boat to show her some fish, so she went with him. The man exposed himself to her telling her this is the fish, said the little girl adding he also hugged her from the back so she ran away and went back to her mom.
The 40-year-old mother testified to prosecutors that the incident happened around 4.30pm when she and her daughter were swimming at the beach.
"My girl was away for three minutes… she returned looking frightened. She told me about a man who exposed himself to her and hugged her from the back," the mother testified before the prosecution.
A British beachgoer testified before the prosecution that she saw the incident narrated by the girl and informed her mother.
The court found him guilty and awarded him 3 years in jail and deportation.
