UAE driving fines: Dh400 for tail-gating

According to federal traffic laws, not leaving enough space between vehicles, commonly known as tail-gating, can invoke a fine of Dh400 and four black points, ‘Al Bayan’ reports.

The report quotes  traffic studies, stating that most collisions between vehicles are caused due to drivers not leaving enough distance between vehicles, which leads to a collision between vehicles.

According to Interior Ministry statistics, 84,000 violations involving this cause of accidents have been recorded in a year.

Intense traffic campaigns have been carried out by the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with traffic departments, to raise awareness of the seriousness of such offenses.
