UAE driving instructor knocks down student in Umm Al Quwain

A Filipina driving instructor banged into her Sudanese student after she accidentally pressed petrol instead of brakes, knocking the 32-year-old woman down in front of house in Umm Al Quwain and causing burns and bruises to her body.

The Sudanese was standing in front of her house in Al Hamra neighborhood waiting for a new driving lesson when she was hit.

Police said the Filipina pressed the accelerator by mistake, knocking down the Sudanese woman before she could jump out of the way.

“The Sudanese woman suffered from first degree burns after she was trapped under the car…she also had bruises in various parts of her body,” the semi official daily Alittihad said, quoting Major Obaid bin Fadel, head of the Shamil police in UAQ.
