UAE follows up probe on shooting of Emirati student in Ohio

The UAE Embassy in Washington has expressed its deepest condolences to the family of deceased Emirati student Saif Alameri.

In a statement, the Embassy said: "It is in close contact with the family of deceased and has done its best to provide support and assistance to them during this difficult time.  

Yousef Al Otaiba, Ambassador of the UAE to the US yesterday called Ohio Governor John Kasich and emphasised the importance of a thorough, transparent and timely investigation into the tragic shooting death of Alameri."

The Ambassador also thanked the Governor for the cooperation with the UAE Embassy and Consulate General in Boston.
 
On Friday, officials from the Abu Dhabi Police Department joined an Embassy consular team in Hudson, Ohio, to represent Alameri family.

The UAE officials met with state investigators, the medical examiner and with the Hudson chief of police.
