Apple products are one of the most talked about in the world of smartphones and tablets and after the release of iPad2, eyes are now set on the new iPhone5. According to an 'Emirates24|7' poll, a good number (38 per cent) of UAE residents are waiting to buy the newer version of the iphone.

Only a minority (19 per cent) have no plans to grab the smartphone when they become available in the UAE. “I just bought an iPhone4,” they said in the online poll.

Meanwhile, majority (43 per cent) of the users said they are not sure and will wait and see what the new version of iphone has to offer before making a choice.

“With all the anticipation that Apple creates with each product launch, there have been all sorts of stories floating about what the next generation iPhone should have,” said Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky’s Electronics LLC.

“A bigger screen, a better display, a better quality set of cameras, dedicated camera key, faster processor, improved notifications and slimmer, sleeker, lighter [device plus] better network connectivity,” feature on Panjabi’s wish list for the iphone5.

According to Kaushik Dange, Category Head – Smartphones at Emax, battery life is of utmost importance. “Customers have time and again stressed the need for a longer lasting battery capacity to be incorporated in the iPhone 4. In my opinion, the iPhone 5 should boast of a higher battery power that lasts longer than half a day.

The iPhone 5 is expected to be more affordable as compared to its predecessors when they first launched. Other features we hope the iPhone 5 is equipped with are 4G compatibility, 3D screens with larger displays, enhanced camera options, HDMI ports and a slim/sleek body. We are really thrilled and are awaiting the launch,” he told this website.

As per the Jacky’s expert, there are certain features that Apple has already planned to introduce. “Apple has already promised us a few things extra in the new operating system that’ll make its way onto the iPhone5. First is of course wireless connectivity so we don’t need to rely on connecting the phone to a laptop or desktop every time if we want to update it.

"Apple has also promised better management of upgrades which means that you don’t need to download a 700 MB file each time a new version of Apple’s OS is ready. Rather, delta upgrades would be possible. Apple has also promised cloud connectivity and with the introduction of iCloud, we’ll hopefully find it easier to access the data we want from wherever we want it,” he said.
