The United Arab Emirates has been selected as an exclusive centre for Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership (QIAL) exams in the MENA region until 2020.
The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) chose the U.A.E. to host the Beta testing stage, having met all specified criteria.
The inaugural QIAL recipients have been honoured during IIA's International Conference held in London.
According to Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority, three of the twelve candidates received the qualification are U.A.E. nationals headed by Riyad Abdulrahman Al Mubarak, the Chairman of Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority, AbdulQader Obaid Ali, Chief of Internal Audit in Dubai World and Aisha Bushlaibi, Head of Internal Audit Office in Ajman Municipality and Planning Department.
The new qualification is an exclusive accredited qualification that was developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors in collaboration with its accredited associations, especially the United Arab Emirates Internal Audit Association (UAE IAA) with its direct and intensive contribution in providing the best environment for the pilot project test for the best in class accredited qualification in the field of internal auditing globally, where it will be considered equivalent to a master's degree and requires applicants to have 5 – 10 years relevant experience in the position of Chief Audit Executive (CAE).
Sixteen candidates were carefully selected by the IIA, out of which eleven candidates passed the Beta testing stages with exceptional results.
