UAE sports awards winners announced

Winners of the second edition of the Emirates Appreciation Award for Sports was announced on Sunday during a meeting of the board of trustees chaired by Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Chairman of the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare.

Abdul Rahim Mohammed Jani was awarded the 'Team Manager' prize in the administrative category, Mohammed Khalifa Al Qubaisi was given the Individual Games prize in the player category while Mohammed Murad Al Joker won the technical prize of the journalist.

The board paid tributes to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support for the award.

The Award was launched by His Highness H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as part of national efforts advance sports movement.

The board affirmed the determination of the UAE wise leadership to recognise and celebrate outstanding sportsmen.

Al Owais congratulated the winners and wished them success in the future editions of the award.
