Video: 19 cars ablaze at university in Sharjah

The Sharjah Civil Defence have contained a fire in a university in Sharjah that engulfed 19 vehicles on Sunday morning.

The authority further confirmed no injuries have been sustained in the blaze.

In a statement, the authority stated at noon via its official Twitter account at noon: “Sharjah Civil Defence has control over the university city fire and now the cooling process is underway.”

They further added: “19 vehicles were damaged, with no injuries sustained.”

According to reports, the fire broke out in a vehicle in the university car park approximately 10.45am, before spreading to other vehicles in the lot.

No reason for the fire has been reported as yet.
