Video: Grand Mosque, Light in darkness

A Qatari newspaper has published what it described as a “majestic” image of the Grand Mosque captured by the pilot of a passenger aircraft.

The Arabic language daily ‘Al Watan’ published a brief film showing the Grand Mosque (Masjid Al Haram) in Makkah as was shot by the captain of the plane while it was flying over the Western city.

“The picture showed Masjid Al Haram as a spot of light in darkness,” the paper said.

Masjid Al Haram is the world’s largest mosque and surrounds Islam’s holiest place, the Kaaba.
