Saudi twins Abdulrahman and Abdullah are the latest Instagram sensation.

The youngsters who logged in to Instagram just about six months back already have 600,000 followers and counting…

Speaking to Emirates24|7, Abdulrahman said they are 21 years old, and that he is older of the two by three minutes.

“He always teases me saying he is the older brother,” said Abdullah.

So what made them post videos on Instagram?

“To spread joy,” quipped Abdulrahman. “We love to interact with people. We have a huge fan following and to have these many followers in such a short period makes us really proud,” said Abdullah.

The ‘older’ twin added that their lives have changed with their popularity on the social media.

“Now, where ever we go we have people who recognise us. Social media has its pros and cons. It takes users away from society and family.”

However, the positive aspect that has come out of their popularity is that now people listen to them.

“You can give advice or encourage people to do good deeds and they will listen to you. That’s when you actually realise that you are their idol,” explains Abdulrahman.

The twins shared interesting episodes such as their teachers confusing them.

Recalling an incident, Abdullah said, “Once while playing football, Abdulrahman got hurt and could not play.

“A little later in the game, the coach was shocked to see ‘Abdulrahman’ running about actively.

“It’s only when he looked behind did he realise that it was me who was playing and Abdulrahman was sitting on the bench, nursing his wound.”

Meanwhile, Abdulrahman recalled an incident from their childhood when he fell sick and Abdullah was absolutely fine.

“Our mother took me to hospital. Half-way through, mother realised that Abdullah wasn’t looking too good. She touched him and learnt that he also developed fever. So she called out to father, ‘let’s take the other kid also, he’s got fever’. We share our sickness, too.”

“There’s no such thing as privacy between the two of us and our interests are the same, too,” Abdulrahman said, explaining that they both love the same sports such as swimming, football and shooting.

“If one of us were to go shopping alone, we ensure we buy two of the same items. And if we cannot afford two, then neither of us will buy it,” he said.
