Wife seeks divorce to marry and get son

A Saudi wife has filed for divorce from her husband, saying they have four daughters and she wants a son, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The unnamed woman in the capital Riyadh said she had learned that husbands are the main factor in determining the sex of their children.

“Life is going and I am getting older…I want a son who will support me when I become too old,” the wife was quoted as saying by Sabq newspaper.

“I have the right to marry again and get a son after having four daughters,” she told the paper, which described it as a unique divorce case in Saudi Arabia.
