Woman on camera... scavenging for food

An old Saudi woman was caught on camera scavenging for food in a large bin, indicating the woman is so poor that she can not afford feeding herself in the largest Arab economy and world’s dominant oil exporter. 

A 124-second U-Tube film published in Saudi newspapers showed the woman, clad in a black gown, sat on the ground rifling through the garbage in the bin near a fruit and vegetable market in the central town of Buraidah. 

A Saudi man who shot the film said he then approached the woman and offered to help her but she ignored him. 

“She picked dirty vegetable and pieces of bread…this incident raises questions about the charity and social system in Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter,” Alwiam newspaper said.
