10-year-old girl complains of stomach ache, then gives birth

A Brazilian girl of 10 complained at school of stomach ache, only to give birth hours later, The Mirror reports.

Although being seven months pregnant and rushed to the hospital by her teachers, the girl gave birth normally.

According to the report, the girl accused her stepfather of raping her and said the man threatened that he would kill her mother and brother if she ever told anyone about the abuse.

The report quotes police in Belo Horizonte, south-east Brazil, saying: “The mother alleges she and other family hadn’t noticed.”

The stepfather has been charged with rape of a child.
