20 Paris airport baggage handlers arrested

Twenty baggage handlers were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of stealing from travellers' suitcases at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, airport officials said.

The arrests came at the end of a 16-month long investigation by transport police who launched their probe after around 3,000 travellers wrote to French authorities complaining that their belongings had been stolen at the air hub.

Roissy-Charles de Gaulle is one of the two major airports serving Paris and one of the busiest in Europe.
