A 5.0 magnitude undersea earthquake struck the northeastern Aegean Sea on Sunday, the seismological station of Aristotle University at Thessaloniki said.
"The 5.0 magnitude quake occurred at 0331 GMT at the Halkidiki peninsula between Sithonia and Athos," an official from the seismological station told AFP.
The official said they are "monitoring" the seismic activity in the region as this was the second quake of similar magnitude to hit the same spot in less than 20 days.
No injuries or serious property damage have been noted in the area since the quake struck.
Greece is the European nation most exposed to earthquakes, experiencing about half of all instances recorded on the continent.
