6.2 earthquake strikes of Samoa

An earthquake measuring magnitude 6.2 has stuck off Samoa on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

The epicentre of the earthquake was just shy of 200 km southwest of Apia - the capital and largest city of Samoa.

There were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties.
