Afghan official: 22 people killed by roadside bomb
A minibus packed with Afghan civilians has struck a roadside bomb in western Afghanistan, killing at least 22 civilians and wounding several others.
Raouf Ahmadi, a police spokesman in Herat province, says the explosion occurred on Thursday morning in Obe district.
Mohyuddin Noori, a spokesman for the province's governor, says about 25 people were riding in the minibus, which was on its way to a bazaar where the passengers were going to shop.
Noori says there was another explosion in the same district, also on Thursday morning, He says a small truck hit another roadside bomb. That blast seriously wounded at least four civilians.
