Baby injured in fall from a parking structure

Police say an infant boy who was either thrown from a Southern California hospital parking structure or somehow fell from the building has been critically injured.

Orange police Sgt. Dan Adams says officers are searching for the person who was with the infant and are reviewing surveillance video to determine what happened at Childrens Hospital Orange County Monday evening.

He says the circumstances are "obviously suspicious" because the one- to three-month-old couldn't have gotten over the ledge on his own. Detectives are conducting a crime investigation.

Adams says the baby dropped from the second or fourth floor of the garage and was taken to a trauma center at UC Irvine Medical Center

Police had no information on the baby's identity or that of his parents.
