More visitors logged on to the Wikipedia website when it was blocked on Wednesday, according to a technology blog.

Zscaler in its blog said that there was a noticeable percentage increase in the unique visits to the online encyclopedia’s website compared to the previous day.

Although the number of unique visitors had increased, there was only a not much of a significant increase in the website’s web transactions.

The website returned to normal after midnight on Thursday (East Coast time) 24 hours after it went blank in protest against the introduction of online piracy laws in the United States.
