Camel rescued after falling in sewage pit

Saudi civil defence men used massive ropes to rescue a camel which fell into sewage pit in the Gulf Kingdom, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Cranes armed with thick ropes and chains lifted the camel out of the pit to safety in an hour-long rescue operation, Ajel Arabic language daily said.

The camel was pasturing near a farm when it plunged into the uncovered pit in the central Qaseem province, it said, adding that the animal was slightly hurt.
