China death toll from flooding at 105, 63 missing

China says the death toll from recent flooding has risen to 105 people with 63 others missing.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs said Tuesday that most of the deaths were in central Hunan province, where torrential rain is expected to continue until Friday. Rain-triggered mudslides and landslides have already killed 39 people there, with 21 others missing.

The ministry says 35 million yuan (Dh18.36m) has been allocated to central Guizhou province for disaster relief. Twenty-four people have died in Guizhou and another 32 are missing.

The ministry says it is also dispatching 5,000 tents and 40,000 blankets for the flood-affected.
