Dubai policeman on duty dies in crash

A Dubai traffic policeman died after his patrol car was rammed by a truck while he was trying to clear traffic to lead a truck laden with stones on Emirates Road.

Sergeant Hian Adel Ali, 24, had just got into his car and was leading the truck towards Jebel Ali area when his vehicle was hit in the rear by another truck going in the same direction, according to Emarat Al Youm and other papers.

The accident resulted in his death while the truck driver suffered from severe injuries and was rushed to Rashid Hospital.

“Sergeant Hian was carrying out his duty when he died in an accident,” Dubai’s police commander in chief Major General Khamis Al Mazeina said.
