Fire in old people's home: 8 dead

A major fire ripped through an old people's home in Venezuela's capital Caracas on Sunday killing at least eight, authorities said.

"Major fire at Chivacoa Seniors' Center. On Mohedano Ave. with the tragic toll of eight people killed," the mayor's office of the upscale Chacao district of Caracas said on Twitter.

Firefighters were able to rescue 32 people, at least 10 of whom were treated for smoke inhalation, officials added.
