Police say they've arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion he killed and dismembered his wife, possibly in front of her six children.
Police said the 30-year-old woman was killed early Monday morning in the Berlin neighborhood of Kreuzberg and then partially dismembered before her husband was taken into custody. They say the six children living in her apartment were being looked after by child services.
It was not clear whether the woman was killed in the apartment or on the roof, and police say they can't give further details because the investigation is ongoing.
Local media reports the suspect threw body parts off the roof into an interior courtyard before being apprehended.
BZ newspaper reports the couple was estranged, and the six children were between ages one and 13.
