Indian airline seats older kids on laps
An India low-cost carrier received a stern warning from the aviation safety regulator for seating seven grown-up children on their parents' laps on a flight.
The regulator asked the airline to sack staffers who let grown up children fly as infants, according to reports in Indian media.
While children up to two years of age can fly seated on a parent's lap, those between two and 12 years of age have to be given a seat as per safety norms and also for the comfort of fellow passengers.
The breach was brought to the notice of the regulator when a passenger on the flight complained that the plane had more people on board than seats.
