Indian IT firms take part in 2011 Internet Show

Indian IT companies displayed their capabilities, product, softwares and services they can offer at the India Pavilion during the 2011 Internet Show being held in Abu Dhabi.

The event was attended by MK Lokesh, Ambassador of India, Abu Dhabi.

Lokesh commended the efforts of The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) which playing an important role in boosting IT trade relations between India and UAE. He highlighted the expanding IT market in Middle East particularly in Abu Dhabi in view of the focus laid on e-learning and e-governance.

“ESC is laying considerable importance in tapping the Gulf market as a part of our proactive policy to identify newer destinations for IT exports to insulate the Indian IT companies from sporadic shock which they experience on account of dependence on few global markets,” said Kamal Vachani, Regional Director, ESC Middle East.

The Middle East region is one of the fastest growing IT markets in the world. High growth prevails across all segments, and the market is driven by economic diversification and various e-government initiatives including finance, communications, and manufacturing. The UAE is currently spending $11.4 billion on Information and Communications Technology (ICT), and that figure is set to rise to $14.8 billion by 2011,

The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), India's largest electronics and IT trade facilitation body, said it is making efforts to enhance the participation of Indian companies in the show, which is being held in Abu Dhabi from September 27-28 this year.

A much focused, impressive B2B event of its kind in the Middle East, the Internet Show in Abu Dhabi is emerging as an important place for business transactions. Naturally, India has a great stake in the booming Middle East, Africa, Asia and European markets, for which Abu Dhabi is the gateway,"said Vachani.

The IT products displayed at the India Pavilion were from areas as diverse as open source software development in PHP and ROR; Search Engine Optimization (SEO); Ready Shopping cart, Rental sites and CRM products for sale; Launching of ShopNetwork and MFit application, Web Applications, Social Media integration, Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, Social Media Optimization, Web 2.0, E-Commerce and Payments, Content Management Systems, Information Security, Audit and Compliance, Risk Assessment, SMS Messaging Services, iPhone Apps Development, On- Line Media. HAND HELD MICRO COMPUTERS- PALMTEC FOR VARIOUS APPLICATION, Web Based Portal Software / ERP / CRM Solutions., Mobile Phone + Intelligent Printer Application Programming, PDA Development on Android, Java, Embedded Etc, SDK for ARM Controllers, Unique software based Videoconferencing solution “Vennfer” with vertical specialisations like Government, Defence, Education, Healthcare, Telecom and BFSI and many more innovative products & services.

The Indian IT companies have expressed high satisfaction by participating at this event. All the participating member companies have reported to forge business ventures at the spot and several of them signed various types of business agreements which shall assist them to enhance their business in near future. According to the feedback of the exhibitors, it is learnt, that the exhibitors generated around 200 business queries, which will surely materialize in developing business alliances in near future.

Several MoUs were signed by the participating member exporters. It is expected that the MOUs, agreements, etc will lead to generating more business.

To further strengthen the IT relations between India and the Middle East, the Council invites a large delegation from Middle East to visit India for INDIASOFT 2012 the largest IT global networking event in India, to be held during March 23-25, 2012 in Hyderabad, India. Around 400 software and services buyers from over 75 countries will be present at this business-to-business (B2B) partnering forum from  US, UK, Europe, Middle East, Japan, China, Korea, Latin America, Africa, CIS, ASEAN region etc will be participating in INDIASOFT 2012.

Today, Dubai, Abu Dhabi being strategically located at the cross roads of Asia, Europe and Africa, are reckoned as an expanding burgeoning IT market. The hectic business transactions that are taking place in Dubai, Abu Dhabi specifically in the financial and commercial segments are set to enhance the IT market depth several fold.

The various e- initiatives and the innovative projects being undertaken there are set to bring about an e-revolution which can transform not only the ICT landscape in Middle East but also boost the ICT export from India in a big way.
